About Wayne Hargreaves

Bachelor of Social Science | Master of Management Studies (Defence Capability Management) | Master of Systems Engineering | Certified Practicing Practising Portfolio Executive (CPPE)

Wayne Hargreaves is a skilled project manager, capability manager and systems engineer who has focused on Defence capability development, training and operational planning as a Consultant, Research Centre Manager at the University of New South Wales Canberra (UNSW Canberra) and during his 21-year Army career. Wayne remains an Army Reservist, providing support to projects and program management offices across Army, Maritime and Joint domains.

As a consultant, he has been responsible for developing business cases and Government submissions for Capability Managers and most recently has been responsible for the development and management of project management policy, guidance and advice for a lead Delivery Group.

As the Manager of a capability-focussed research centre based at UNSW Canberra, Wayne was responsible for business development, supporting research tasks and providing Defence aspects of professional development short courses.

His experience, where he has routinely authored documents for the Government and high-level Defence strategic decision makers, has required highly developed written and oral communication skills. These skills have seen Wayne succinctly and articulately describe complicated engineering systems or capability related concepts with straight-forward language to enable the highest level of informed evidence-based decision making.
