About Wayne Hargreaves

Wayne Hargreaves is a skilled project manager, capability manager and systems engineer who has focused on Defence capability development, training and operational planning as a Consultant, Manager of the Capability Systems Centre at the University of New South Wales Canberra (UNSW Canberra) and during his 21-year Army career. Wayne remains an Army Reservist reservist, providing support to projects and program management offices across Army, Maritime and Joint domains.
As a consultant, he has been responsible for developing business cases for the Navy Capability Division and most recently has been responsible for the development and management of project management policy, guidance and advice for the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
The Capability Systems Centre is an industry research centre based at UNSW Canberra that focuses on research disciplines related to the development, acquisition and management of capability throughout the life cycle; including systems engineering, systems thinking, systems science, requirements engineering, complex systems and project management. As the Manager, Wayne was responsible for business development, supporting research tasks and providing Defence aspects of professional development short courses.
His experience, where he has routinely authored documents for the Government and high-level Defence strategic decision makers, has required highly developed written and oral communication skills. These skills have seen Wayne succinctly and articulately describe complicated engineering systems or capability related concepts with straight-forward language to enable the highest level of informed evidence-based decision making.
